R&D SmartTax is Australia’s only provider of practical software, tools and expertise to help small businesses investing in smarter products and business practices more easily claim assistance from the Federal Government’s R&D Tax Concession, Tax Offset and Tax Credit programs.

Since commencing in 2009 R&D SmartTax’s tools and expertise have helped hundreds of Australian businesses better understand these programs, why they should claim and how to claim. In 2010 its premier software products, the R&D Eligibility Wizard and R&D Application had the honour of winning Anthill Magazine’s SMART100 Award for Innovation for being the “innovation that helps other innovators.”

In 2011 R&D SmartTax launched its innovative R&D Tax Package for Accountants after research showed good demand from Australia’s small business tax practitioners looking for a better way to look after client R&D tax needs. The R&D Tax Package for Accountants is designed as a complete package with a combination of both tools and access to an R&D tax specialist all included for the one price. The response to the R&D Tax Package has been extremely positive and further compliance tools will be released with this later in 2011.

R&D SmartTax is a division of Hughes Group Services Pty Ltd, a Brisbane company specialising in R&D tax claim assistance for small businesses. Managing Director Caroline Hughes has worked for more than a decade all over Australia in every diverse industry helping large and small companies benefit from the Australian R&D Tax Breaks.
